Children

The court will work to serve the best interests of the child and will not generally interfere with arrangements agreed between two parents.

However, we can work to help resolve disputes, which may concern access, place of residence, education and religious upbringing.

Child maintenance is now handled by the Child Support Agency who make decisions about the level of payment.

However, we can help if an increase in the level of payment is required or where the absent parent is not fully co-operating with the CSA.

Where both parents agree the level of maintenance payments for the child, the involvement of the CSA can be excluded by agreement reached in a court order.
